A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to see a presentation delivered by type designer, typographic illustrator and artist- Sebastian Lester. The presentation took place in Newcastle College.
It was an interesting and motivating experience for me. Thanks to this presentation I had a chance to take a closer look at professional designer`s work and get to know more about typography. I could look at typography from slightly different angle as I tend to before- as a field of many creative opportunities.
Sebastian Lester is a London-based designer. He has created typefaces and type illustrations for some of the world's biggest companies, publications and events, including the likes of Apple, Nike, Intel, The New York Times etc. He is the author of Soho Gothic font- widely used in contemporary design.
Sebastian Lester seems to be very modest person with a great sense of humor.Despite his impressive achievements he`s far from showiness. He is certainly passionate about his work.
His passion for types began when he was little. As a child he was copying and re-drawing fonts from his BMX bike.
